Pan Fully Restored???

Enjoy the fully restored re-release of Disney's classic "Peter Pan"... including all the RACISM!

Your children will greet this film with a big "How" as the "Piccaninny Tribe" of Injuns dances and performs the hit number "What makes the Red Man Red?"

Fun for all ages!

Yeah, but I heard they did cut the scene where the Lost Boys give them the blankets infected with smallpox.

when is sambo getting restored?

the funny thing about the sambo book (and peter pan itself) is that i don't believe the originators of the stories intended them to be so racially divisive. sambo's story itself contained no racist overtones, yet the artwork was clearly of an tone that could be construed as racist (if not alarmingly insensitive).

i wonder about walt & co.'s song choices - we're they mearly a representation of a time in american history fraught with unintended racism and sexisim?

Dave- you made me completely bust out laughing in my office this morning! The whole blanket/smallpox thing is exactly my style of humor.

Thanks for that!

Hey, this was a huge step in homosexuality in mainstream film ... so what if we hurt a few "injuns" along to do so. It's the American Way.

I liked Peter Pan...racial warts and all. I'm just afraid I'll never get ther chance to see "Song of the South" ever again.
